Badabaddaschwing!!

Well,

It has been a while since I have been on and things have been hecticamundo!! what to talk about?...well..here goes..

Edinburgh..been down there 3 times and that should be it...the last time was last week...although the bloody signal workers strike almost put the kaibosh on that one!!!..but the called the second one off and down I went...in for 10.30 am..meet at 11.30 am..back on the train for 3.00 pm..phew...all the work has been done..including the repair work to the roof and walls of bathroom...I even have my cutlery drawer back in the kitchen!! Good to see the joiner fella had been shirty with the letting Agent as well...so he has gone back to his boss and argued the case for the fella to put down new flooring in the kitchen and bathroom for free...just got work today he has gone for it!!!..hussah!!!..although the total cost is pretty substantial....if the insurance/Association do not pay out their relative costs..it will be 9K..if they do...take it back down to 8K..but still pretty tough to swallow...and it has dragged on and on and there has been may unnecessary costs...but I would never have been able to do it if I hadn't sold Perth No. 1...and look at the market now...!!!..never have sold it if I had waited for now..so..all worked out really...the big boss is going down this week to assess rental income..but it will definitely go up..and all these folk who can't afford houses will want to rent..hussah!!! Now...all I need to do is save for the Capital Gains tax coming up next year.

On top of sorting Edinburgh out I had to get out of Gourdon. Simon agreed to take the big office desk and, after work, we headed down to take it out..we both scoffed and agreed it would be easier going out than getting it in up 2 flights of stairs...ha ha..not a bit of it..after a long days work the last thing I needed was that..eventually got it up to his new abode..then 2 more packing sessions...and a final deep clean...goodness me...I was knackered after that..then a final sign out last Sunday...after the final sign off for work in Edinburgh the preceding Th6rsday..so..a BIG week for me....but it is done now and I can look forward to my cheque in settlement of deposit...after I have paid my final Council Tax and Leccy..and moving stuff from a full flat to 1 room has been challenging..but I am almost there..I like it...central heating...nice room...nice house...been on my own for the last week and a bit...landlady is back this weekend..although in one of the areas I work in...not bad really...actually quite quiet..no seagulls dumping on my van either!!!

Only now do I realise the physical, mental and emotional stress all that travelling was having on me...I have been going for walks..alright..one was to the off license..but it was a 50 minute walk!!...having a look round town...stuff like that....I don't have to add an hour on each end of my day now...what a relief..and the landlady has a free view box so I can watch Morse, The Professionals and Minder to my heart's content. The only issue has been tinternet..that was a total cock up..it really was...a total of 6 hours spent being shunted from call centre team to team..and over to India a few times...misinformation...miss processing..one saying they had done something when they had not and not doing something when they should have...AND...I have now received a letter from BT saying they are penalising me to the tune of £198.00 for cancelling one broadband contract even though I am starting another one up with them here!!!!...a letter for that one I think as I cannot be doing with the call centre chase again!!

So..now Edinburgh is almost done and I don't need to go there again (here's hoping) and I have moved from Gourdon..things should settle down. In the back of my mind are the storage heaters in Edinburgh...Capital Gains Tax and the fact Perth No.2...which is, technically, No 1 now..and Glasgow are coming out of their fixed term next May..which will be an issue in this economic climate.

HOW DID THIS ALL HAPPEN??...I am confused?..someone somewhere has let this all go to rats!!..anyhoo..just lucky I do not have many shares and those I do have were given buck shea.

So now all I need to do is get this funding sorted...we have decided to not rely on the Fairer Scotland Fund as it seems embroiled in bureaucracy...although one of my partner workers is keen to secure the underspend for this year and divert some to me for my funding..which is nice...but we are not relying on that either..so..it is off to the Lottery..Heritage Fund...they give you an answer in 10 days after application (in last week) and, if they give the go ahead for a full application..they give you a case worker...so it all looks good...at least we will find out in good time...and, if they turn us down...at least the FSF might have sorted itself out by then...but I doubt it. Already put the word out about fall back plans and such like...options...so being proactive on that front anyway...and..if the worse comes to the worse...always try and cover some time in the office...Pensions won't..or shouldn't be affected...even if a company goes up the Swanny...they still need folk to terminate the pension scheme!!..but let us hope it never comes to that.

As for ladies...now I am back in town I can start thinking of that a bit more...in addition to the fact I have made a decision to stay if I can...so..we shall see.

Think that is enough for now.
